As I did not hear from you yesterday I thought I would write to you in reply to your letter of the 11th June about the visit to Worthing to see a collection of pictures.

So far as I can trace we in the Colonial Office have not heard anything about the proposal.

Sir M.K. Lo and Mr. T.N. Chau are coming to a meeting here on Monday morning to discuss University finances. They appear to have official engagements in the afternoon and evening so it looks as if a visit to Worthing on Monday would be difficult to arrange.

There are no Government care available for such a visit but I am prepared to authorise the Crown Agents to pay the railway fares. I think that as the date of your journey may be a little uncertain the best way of making the arrangements would be for you to pay the cost and then recover the amount from the Crown Agents who would debit it to the Hong Kong Government account. However, if you prefer it I could ask the Crown Agents to buy the tickets and send them on to you.

The "Festival Visitors" leave for a tour of Scotland on Thursday morning but I do not think Sir M.K. Lo intends to go. I have not yet heard
